Kate Q. Williams, Esq.
Kate is the founder and owner of Philanthropy Partner LLC. Kate has had the unique opportunity to understand and support the needs of private foundations from the grantee, grantor, operational and legal perspectives. She has supported executive leadership, operations staff, and boards of directors on a wide range of issues, including affiliations, transactions, strategic initiatives, governance, and programmatic and operational needs. She has partnered with visionaries and trustees to ensure that grants and collaborations are impactful and are executed with attention to the foundations’ priorities, strategies, and legal compliance requirements. Most recently, Kate served as in-house legal counsel for a complex national nonprofit provider in the areas of behavioral health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and education and autism services. In addition, Kate Clerks the Board of Trustees of the Thomas Scattergood Behavioral Health Foundation, where she is actively engaged in the direction and implementation of its strategy, grants, partnerships, initiatives, and operational needs. Kate is a skilled generalist, able to problem-solve and issue spot effectively and efficiently with a solutions-oriented mindset. She brings a relevant and dynamic skillset to the private foundations she supports.
Kate received her J.D. from Temple University, where she was a member of the Rubin Public Interest Law Honor Society, was on the Dean’s List Honors, and a member of the Political and Civil Rights Law Review. She received her undergraduate degree from Trinity College, with honors.
